Freedom from debt
What would that mean to the Family of God at Quail Springs?
An anonymous donor has offered to help make that possible.
A Gift from God
Currently, our debt is $1,061,162. If nothing changes, we will make our last debt payment in late 2008. Now, each week our budget pays $6,085 toward that debt. This fall an anonymous donor offered to match every dollar donated to eliminate our debt. The prospect of freeing ourselves of such a burden so early seemed too promising to ignore, and the leadership feels that this is truly a gift from God.
The Plan
Free to Dream is our cooperative plan to retire the debt of the Family of God at Quail Springs in 2005 so that we can more freely and effectively follow our purposes and vision. Since hearing of this gift we could hardly wait to share the news. We have been meeting, and praying, and planning, and dreaming. Three committees exist to steer the project:

Since debt freedom will open many possibilities for us, the planning committee is especially important. This team would welcome your suggestions about how to shape that future, so you are invited to fill out a Free to Dream input form which we will distribute soon.
Every dollar equals two
This opportunity has such powerful and promising implications for us now and into the future that the elders and ministers want to make sure that everyone has a chance to participate. Thus, every dollar given to Free to Dream will, because of the matching donor, translate into two dollars toward freedom. Promotion and administrative costs of the project will come from the regular budget. We hope this announcement will give direction to people who had already planned to donate money before the end of the year. We also hope that you have many comments and questions to share.
The invitation
Come, be a part of this freedom and the dreaming it will make possible. We will be reaching out in a variety of ways to explain and promote the effort. As we begin to discuss this opportunity, one principle that we feel strongly about is the idea that each person give only as he is blessed and prospered. We would not want anyone to take on the bondage of personal debt that we seek to free the congregation from. Further, we certainly expect that everyone will continue to be faithful in their support of the ongoing ministries of the church by regular contributions and also by giving and pledging in a generous way to our continuing missions program on Missions Sunday.

Begin praying now for God�s leading, for His providing. Just think what He can do with us this year and in years to come. After today you can expect updates on the campaign in January and February. A more formal inauguration will occur in March. Of course, there is more information to share, but that will follow. Consider how God can use your funds, talents and hearts to free us from debt, to dream the dreams, to finally thrive not merely survive.
